Who holds your health information.

Draft. This page is written in plain language for clarity and has not been reviewed by an attorney. Final text is pending owner approval.

Health information belongs with the people licensed to hold it. This page explains where yours lives and how we treat what we learn while you are here.

We are a hospitality provider

Royal Rose Suites provides lodging, meals, transport, and coordination. We do not provide medical or nursing care, and we are not the custodian of your medical record.

Your clinical record lives with your clinicians

Your surgeon and the independent licensed home health agency you contract with are covered entities under HIPAA. They maintain your clinical documentation and issue their own Notice of Privacy Practices. Ask them for a copy.

What we hold

Only what a stay requires: your name, contact details, arrival and departure dates, dietary and mobility needs, an emergency contact, and any preferences you share with us.

Business associate agreements

Where we support a practice or an agency in a way that involves protected health information, we execute a written business associate agreement first and handle that information under its terms.

Confidentiality on the property

Staff do not discuss guests with other guests. We do not confirm to a caller whether someone is staying with us unless that guest has told us in writing that we may. Photography of guests happens only with written consent.

Raising a concern

If you believe your information was handled improperly, tell us and we will investigate and respond in writing. Concerns about clinical records should also go to your surgeon or agency, who can act on their own records.
